Behind the Scenes: Glam
My best friend and sister-in-law, Robin, came along for a recent shoot with Simply Emily Photography, Elena, and I. When Robin is around, we tend to get a little goofy. As a result of our fun, we ended up with some great behind the scenes shots!
Most Adorable Maternity Shoot
I met Sara Bell when she was the photographer at our wedding! Nathan and I had such a blast with her that we instantly became friends.
A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to do the makeup for her maternity pictures, shot by Simply Emily Photography. Emily thought up a neat concept and we ended up having a lot of fun with it.
I hope you enjoy!

After getting Sara all dolled up (in makeup, a dress, and a gorgeous flower crown), we headed out to find the perfect location. We drove to a nearby field with with the car full to the brim with a bed frame, mattress, pillows and more. Once we arrived, Emily set up the bed and we covered in white sheets, blankets, and throws (all the while, paying close attention not to dirt anything).

We must have looked quite out of place with a white bed in the middle of a field on the side of the road! |

Sara is the cutest!
Gorgeous Girl: Nirvana
I did another fun shoot with Simply Emily Photography.

This was my favourite shot of the day. That bold eye peaking out through her mess of hair - adorable! |
Look #1: We put all focus on her eyes for this look. I used black, greys, silvers, and whites. To top it off, I used a light pink lipstick with gloss. I also want to note the great styling by Amanda Vernon (love that top and those bracelets!)
Look #2: This was a much simpler look. I used a little concealer to brighter her complexion and added a little colour with blush. I kept the rest natural, with a little shadow, liner and mascara in browns, beiges, and black. Lastly, I lined her lips and gave her a pop of gloss.

Glam!
On Wednesday, I did another great shoot with Simply Emily Photography. We had the pleasure of working with Elena M. from Next Models Canada. She was sweet and so much fun - not to mention gorgeous! Styling done by Ga La.
We had a lot of fun with a variety of looks and some fun makeup! Check out the contrast between the two makeup looks. Elena was stunning!
Behind the scenes pictures with Robin to come - stay tuned!

Sunset
I have been horrible about making blog posts (I think it’s been over a year!). I’ve decided to make a change to that though - I will be making a point to make regular entries.
A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to work with Emily of Simply Emily Photography for the first time. My good friend and sister-in-law, Robin was our model. I shoot with her often - she is my favourite!
Robin wore vintage clothes from Timeless Apparel and we shot at the St. Lawrence Market at sunset.
The look: Robin has sensitive skin, so I have to be careful about what makeup I use on her. She uses Physician’s Formula Mineral Wear powder in Buff Beigefor foundation. I used Colorevolution’s blush. For her eyes, I have a variety of Aveda’s eyeshadows that worked nicely together. Both eyeliner and mascara are No. 3 by Sante. I used individual false lashes (I believe four on each side). For her lips, I used MAC’s Sweet Sunrise (beige), then changed it up for a bright red, with MAC’s Russian Red.

Britney… er, Diana?
My best friend, since the first year of kindergarten, and I have been doing creative shoots together since I finished makeup school. She has been begging me to do a shoot of her as Britney Spears probably since then. Finally, I agreed to squeeze it into my busy weekend plans. Nathan and I had a wedding to go to.
She came over bright and early and we spent the morning listening to every Britney song available on YouTube and I did her makeup. I was pressed for time and she still had to venture downtown to do the shoot with a friend (and great photographer) of hers. I left her all dolled up (but not particularly like Britney) and a little nervous to be in front of the camera.
These are a few pictures from the shoot. I think they turned out great! She doesn’t look like Britney Spears… but I see Diana Krall. I have always thought she did - my friend was not too pleased about that. I think I proved myself right with this one.
I do promise her that sometime we will shoot her again as Britney Spears. I will be there during the shoot as well, so I can adjust shadows with makeup and give her the appearance of Britney’s nose, lips, and eyebrows. Until then, she can be content with the gorgeous pictures we got from this shoot.
